john deere 4100 to 2325 comparison?

I am going to buy used, and so far I have been interested in the 2305 and the 4100 (older I know) and now the 2325.

The 2305 is out for me now because of the cat 1 hitch limitations. Is there a good comparison between the older 4100, or maybe 4010 and this newer 2300 series? Should I even compare them?

I am completely unfamiliar with the 2325 model designation...do you mean 2320?

The 4100, and the newer version 4110 (which I own) is equivilent to the 2320/2520 as far as specs go...Great machine.

No, I meant 2320 but since you pointed it out you are right I should have said 2320.

I saw a 4100 on ebay or something a few days ago, and was trying to check it out on the john deere website, but could not find it there.

I think the 4100 was last made in 2001 so it wouldn't be on the JD website. Try tractordata.com or tractorhouse.com.

my uncle has a 4100, it is very similar to the 2320, with the exception of horsepower. I believe he said it has 16 pto hp. he uses it to bush hog with a 4 ft howse bush hog and has a 5 ft disc harrow. never complains about power or performance.

The 4100 has 20 engine HP, with 18 at the PTO.

I bought my 4010 in the fall of 2004. Some 4100s were still available then, too.

The 4010 is a great machine. The hydraulics on the 4110 are a bit faster; I understand. Plenty good enough for me on the 4010. I hauled about 22 tons of gravel with the FEL on mine. Did fine.

When I bought my 4110 the dealer had a used 4100 with a 4' deck. When I checked the hydraulics output I went with the 4110 as I knew I would be adding a fel at a later date. I believe the hp was a bit better too. For a lawn tractor it works well and is very maneuverable. I have a 60" MMM and the fel will be finished shortly. 120 hours so far and many more to come.

I had a 4100 that I just sold. It was a great tractor and did everything I needed it to do! I mow about 3 acres and it was great for that. I used it for a lot of other things too, plowing my driveway, moving back the manurer pile...you name it...it always did everything I asked. I did have one problem. My seal on my front axel was leaking, my dealer told me today it was probably from not enough wait in my weight box. Other than that small thing it was a great tractor!
