No. That is a 9.4% discount. I don't know what the markup is on that series of Jd. My now sold, JD 3720 had an 18% discount. My new but not here yet, JD 4520 was 16.5% discount. Both of these quotes also had dealer labor for attaching loader, weights, block heater and some other options and the % discount included their labor. I realize that price may vary by region, but I would get more quotes. IMO, they will nearly always come down further in price from their initial quote. Haven't met a dealer yet that would not come down on an initial quote for new tractor. Get 3 quotes, take the one you like (may not be the cheapest) and work down from there. Offer a price with 18-20% discount and bargain from there. For what you are getting, quotes could vary as much as 2K.

From what I've gathered on this site and from my own experience, the 2305 doesn't have the margins in it that the other JD compacts, including the next model up, the 2320, have. A few hundred off seems to be the norm - as your quote shows. I doubt you'll be able to find anything approaching a 15%+ discount on a new one - perhaps a demo or one that's been sitting around a long time, collecting overhead. When it's mowing season around here, they sell out just as soon as they get another one in. Let us know how it goes!

I'm waiting for my new 2305, 200CX, Kodiak 48" bushog ordered from Anderson Lawn and Garden in Rocky Mount, VA.

2305 $9419
200CX $2435
Kodiak $800

Subtotal: $12654
Tax: $632.70
Total: $13,286.70

They were the best of the three dealers in the area. One dealer, Wimmer in Christiansburg, wanted $10,300 for a used 2305 with no attachments(!)
