ET,

As the other guys mentioned it doesn't sound like a killer deal. However, the front blower is a killer piece of equipment and a front blower is the only way to move big snow with these little tractors.

Used units are hard to come by. I was able to find a used unit on ebay for less ($1200), but it took an additional 5-10 hours of metal working to fashion a quickhitch to fit my tractor, and hey that's free right?

Mine was in rough, but good condition. I've replaced u-joints and it's a great attachment that works well. I wouldn't be too scared of old but with your price of having to buy new components for it as well, it's only a "less than new price". Not a great deal...but hey, eight hundred bucks is eight hundred bucks right?

Joe

I bought this exact same blower for my X475. I bought it this July. It was used, and came off a tractor that had 5 (yes FIVE) Hours on it. The blower was maybe used to 2-3 hrs at the most. It looks brand new, and was stored inside. It is a 1 yr old model, and I paid $1,700 for it installed on my tractor.
Your dealer is way too high on a roughed-up unit.

JCB Quick hitch is not included in price I have a quick hitch for front angle blade.
True it may only have 5-10 hrs use being it is now close to Winchester Va
I still haven't heard from my dealer is see what his price is going to be either on a new or used blower.
I haven't called this dealer back to see if he would take a lower price

I just talked with my dealer and he had no used blowers
A new one 47" ,shaft, stop kit, better shoes, and spout cable

2575 plus tax

and the used one (10 yrs old ) same setup
2100 plus tax

Makes sense to me to buy the new NO BRAINER on this end

May wait to Nov see if any different credit offers

Thanks for all the help!!!!

Agreed - but I'd still offer them $1500 cash - it would be worth that and I'd bet they'd take it.

I agree by your numbers to get the new one , unless he comes down on that used price ...

I'd be curious to know if the used one is the Dealers stock or a consignment deal ???

What is this Stop Kit you speak of , never heard of it ???

Later,x595

Sorry for any mix up here is what i was refearing to
Implement Drive and Upstop (2305)
Includes drive between blower and tractor. Upstop limits lift height to protect drive shaft.
and
2000-rpm front PTO kit (2305, 2210)
Required to transfer power from mid-PTO to front of tractor for implements such as a rotary broom or snow blower.

Remember at $2575 does not include front quick hitch that lists for $614 wouldbe $3189 and appx $60 (guessing at that discount)off that price would be $3125 about $75 off your quote.

Talked w dealer with used blower today and he says the lowest he will go is $2000. Says if I bought the used unit with all items quick hitch, blower, shaft , and upstop he would sell it to me for $1500.00 , but with me only needing the used blower, and new shaft, upstop ,shoes, and spout control he would have appx 800.00 in new parts.

We both agree'd that when the 1st snow in his area he may not have to come down in price and I said I would call and maybe he would come down on price because no one in his area had called .
We laughed and I told him I would call him around the first of Dec.

Who knows !!!!!
