Default 3720 - Reasonable price???

I have been looking at used 3000 series, mainly on machine finder. Have seen a 2006 3720 with 300x and 600 hrs for $16300, but it is too far to inspect personally, but I know little about tractors and could only pick up major issues. But, I am cautious about such a big purchase without first seeing something.

Recently noted a 3720 for sale locally and wondered what opinions there are on the asking price of $22k. Machine details are 2006 3720 with 250 hours, dual rear and 3rd front SCV, electric diverter kit, power beyond, telescoping links, mid PTO, auto cruise control, brush guards, air ride seat, 300cx loader with 60" 4 in 1 bucket, 60" MMM with hydraulic lift and mulch kit. Built it (minus the 4 in 1) on the JD site and came out to over $35k new (MSRP). Is $22k reasonable if it is in good shape?

With the FEL, mower and other options, I would say that is a good price. I do believe the 60" mower is small, and the 72" would be more optimal. If it has 250 hours, it should be in excellent shape unless it has been left outside a lot. I recently sold my cabbed 2006 3720 with FEL, 450 hours, had those options and a few more but no mower or 4-in-1 bucket for $25,250. You should be able to get a little more off his asking price.

If the tractor you built on the Deere configurator came out to $35,000. + you should be able to buy new for $29,000 to $30,000 after discounts. You would have full warranty and the 0% financing too along with getting the tractor specs you want, might be a better deal. Buying new I would expect to see 15 to 20% off on 3x20 and 4x20 series.

Agreed. I just bought a new 4120 for 16.5% off list - which is a VERY good deal in my neck o' the woods where many dealers won't go more than 5-10% max. You should go through through the thought process of new vs used to make the best decision for yourself. As mentioned - with new you get a full warranty, 0% financing, zero hours - meaning that you know exactly what the tractor has been through and how it's been maintained. Plus you get that "new tractor smell"!

Just an update, went and looked at the machine the other day. It was in excellent shape. Got a little more off asking and he is delivering it today. Buying new was just out of my budget, and do like all the "extras" on the 3x20 over the other ones I was looking at. NOW, I have to look into implements, first will be a box blade. Any advice on brands? I know JD sells frontier and TSC sells KK. Will read up in other forums too.

Your gonna love your tractor. Keep an eye on the battery, the factory ones often come with problems.

Can't advise on a BB, I own a way old 72" unit that is very heavy duty. I do own a KK brush mower and tiller and I am well please with them.
