john deere planter
I have a chance to buy a J.D 490 corn planter. It is in excellent shape. What would be a decent price and is it a good planter? thanks Dan

Welcome to TBN, danzangus.
Can't help with planter info for you - but, you might get a few more bites if you post (or the moderator could move it) into the JD Ag forum.
It's just a couple of houses down the street.

Re: john deere planter
they are a decent plot planter if you can get it for a few hundred dollars without dry fertilizer and a bit more with dry fert you should be fine

Re: john deere planter
I had a 290 it was not well kept, the fert buckets were rotted out.
These are sort of a rube goldberg contraptions but worked well. my row marker even worked.
paid a neighbor $100 for it.
If you get it and are handy, it would pay to convert it to three point
