LX4 vs. RC1048 vs. RC2048
Hi. Is there any appreciable difference between these generations of JD/Frontier rotary cutters? The dealer I'm getting my 2520 from is offering either a Lx4 or RC1048 (never been sold on either - just been sitting around) for $1k. This would be a great price for a RC2048 and I was just wondering if these older models are basically the same - just older. Or if one or the other (LX4 vs. RC1048) has any distinct advantages. I have not had a chance to drive out to the dealer to look at them but I'm hardly an expert and would be hard pressed to notice suttle differences, anyway. Apparently all are i-match, LX4 has chain guards front and rear while Frontier model has rubber guard on either front or rear - that is the only difference he was aware of. Thanks in advance.

Re: LX4 vs. RC1048 vs. RC2048
Can't help with the RC models, but the LX4 has been a good light duty mower for me.
The only problem I have had is that when you start the PTO, the the blades can swing around and hit each other and get stuck.
Most of the times, you can stop and start the PTO and it will straighten out.
J.D. does have a fix for this. (Solution Number 73305)
