Used 2520 price

Looking through craigs list for tractors, came across this that's not too far from me. I haven't seen any 2520's for sale used and I was at Padulla Brothers a few weeks ago, no new ones on the lot.

Is this a fair price since new ones seem to be scarce nowdays?

I think that's not a bad deal. My old 2520 that I traded in is a 2008 machine with 400 hours and a 62D deck. My dealer is asking $14,600. My machine has no loader, no additional front hydraulic circuit, no rear hydraulic circuit, no wheel weights, no loaded tires, no added work lights, no service manual, no tire chains. If you assume the loader is worth about the same as my 62 inch deck I bet you still have close to $2000 of other extras that mine doesn't have. The lower hours alone is worth the extra $1300 difference. So it's sure worth something around $16K where I live. However this machine would not sell for $24K in my area either, maybe $20K or so.

I don't think you are going to see any new 2520's on any dealer's lots for awhile. We just had our new 2520 delivered 3 weeks ago, and my dealer said any ordered today, would not be delivered until December. The $2,500 promotion earlier this year emptied the lots and the pipeline.

Now to your question...I would also agree with bz1. I think the price is fair especially with all the add ons (power beyond, chain, lights, etc). When I was at my dealer a few weeks ago, he had on the lot a used (thought it was an '09) with 91 hours and a FEL...his starting price is $16,900.

I would not say the price is outstanding and shouldn't be negotiated but if you were to start adding up the new cost, I am sure you would approach the $2k mark as bz1 stated.

Wished I lived closer. I just purchased a new 011 jd 2520 with 62d and 200 cx loader with loaded r4 tires that I need to sell. 17800 I'd take. Tractor has 18 hours. I'm having no luck on craiglist. Good luck

I finally sold (March 2011) my 2520, 62D, FEL with 130hrs for $7500. Had it for sale for over a year on several different CL. It went to the Dodge City Kansas area.

No, $7500.00

Started the price at 15k. When I told them that the deck kept falling out they left. Tractor had a couple of minor dents on the hood. No other damage of any kind. Was always kept in a garage and looked like new except for the hood.
