Hey all...first post, but this site has been so helpful in my research for a new tractor so far. Thank you. I have come across a 2007 x500 48" with about 150hrs on it for $3800. Looks to be in great cosmetic condition and seller says everything runs/works as it should. About an 8 hr drive away and want to know if the price seems right, sounds like a good deal to me?

In my area you should be closer to $3200.00
Remember Deere is running a $500.00 rebate on all Select Series tractors right now - you should be able to get an X500/48 for a little less than 5K.

Check out machinetrader, but remember that website is operated by Deere, and the prices will be high.

The Deere website has it at $5299, will a dealership negotiate? 5k is my budget for the upcoming year, I wouldn't mind putting that all into a better tractor then wait another year for the additional tools.

A dealer will negotiate. Can expect anywhere from 7 to 10% on a smaller purchase such as this but on larger tractors you can get up to 15 to 18% at times.

No doubt. Deere covers that $500 and is not part of the dealers "cushion" so you will be able to get a lump some on top of that amount. They make these prices to be negotiable so it feels like your getting a deal:thumbsup:
Best way to find out though is to call your dealer and see what kind of a deal they'll make. Be sure to get multiple quotes from different dealers as well as you might have one dealer that is a stickler on price and another that wants to have your business.
