So I finally took the plunge and got a factory fresh 2012 5085M on the way.

It will be equipped with the following factory options:

  • MFWD (4 Wheel Drive)
  • Deluxe Cab
  • Instructional Seat
  • Deluxe Corner Post Exhaust
  • 16F/16R PowrReverser Transmission - 540/540E
  • Electrohydraulic (EH) with remote LH fender control
  • Triple Rear Deluxe Valve with Lever Controls
  • Triple Mid Valve with Joystick Control
  • 420/85 R34 R1W Radial (Michelin Agribib)
  • 13.6R24 125A8 R1W Radial (Michelin Agribib)
  • 63mm Hitch Lift Cylinders
  • High Capacity Fuel Tank
  • Front Weight Support
  • Cold Weather Package

And I'm picking up the following "dealer attachments" that I will be installing myself:

  • Rear Fender Extension Kit
  • Electrohydraulic (EH) Hitch Right Fender Switch Kit
  • Oil Collection System
  • Auxiliary Work Light Kit (2x)
  • Brake Light Kit
  • PowrReverser Modulation Control Kit
  • Service Horn

And it will have a loader that will be configured as follows:

  • H260 Standard Loader
  • Mounting Frame
  • Mechanical Self-Leveling - 3-Function
  • 3-Function Hoses and Parts
  • 3-Function Single Point Hydraulic Connection
  • Hood Guard
  • Large Ballast Box
  • Global Carrier
  • 1850 MM (73 In.) Global Heavy Duty Bucket

And last but not least, it will come with the following attachments:

  • Woods SG100 Stump Grinder
  • Bush Hog 3209 Rotary Cutter
  • Frontier AV20G Root Grapple 77"
  • CB Pallet Forks

I opted not to get the side mirrors and will instead get a rear camera with a monitor.

I also will start out with no liquid ballast in the rears and see how things work out. The larger ballast box filled with Portland Cement should help with grapple/loader work. I want to run light footed for moving duties, taking advantage of the radials. If conditions warrant, I'll add rear weights (loader/grapple work), front weights (Bush Hog 3209 work), and as a last resort, liquid ballast (16-3 plow work?).

I'm excited!

Appreciate the encouragement. You guys are a lot more excited about this than my wife.

I'm also picking up a Woods RB850 3-way hydraulic blade (found used on Craigslist w/ 2 way hydraulics, I'll be adding the 3rd), and a Woods LR108-2 rake (used on tractorhouse.com).

Very nice! I think you are going to be very happy with that tractor!

I did a lot of vacillating myself about the RimGuard, but in the end I did what you have done, I went with no RimGuard to maximize the ride and footprint of the radials. I've got two hundred lbs. of wheel weights per side and the small ballast box on the way.

Do you know what the weights of the two ballast box options are when filled with cement?

Looks like a nice unit. What is the oil collection system?
It collects the hydraulic oil "drips" you typically experience when connecting/disconnecting the hydraulic lines from the rear remotes.

I believe the "small" ballast box (which I currently have) is about 1014# filled with Portland cement. The "large" ballast box appears to be at least twice the volume, so maybe 2000#+ filled with Portland?
