True. The deeper deck allows more air flow to lift the grass as it's being cut.

Given that the G1800 Kubota was at the newest a 01 and was a ten year old model design at that time I would hope that things would have improved over the last ten or twenty years for a design.

I've seen pluses and minuses on new design decks and the only way to really know is to test them which is also tough!

You may need to read post #9 again.

The ZG332 is a gas, the ZD331 is a diesel.

We sell exmark, simplicity, ferris, cub cadet, bush hog, woods, steiner, big dog, and Kubota... I think thats it.

If you have a 10k+ budget, Kubota is the best.

He's switching models on me! I stand corrected.

I got tired of trying to cut my grass with a JD 3038e CUT and 6ft rear finish mower. I kept running over the wife's flowers and plants, not to mention ripping out chunks of the chain link fence around the house, so I bought a JD 997 last summer.

It is a hoss!!! I love that thing. Yes it's big, bulky and heavy... but it cuts grass like nothing I've ever seen. I recently talked to a guy who used to be the head grounds keeper at a nearby college. He said that one day he called several of the major vendors of ZTRs and had them bring their biggest, baddest model for him to test. He said he and his crew tested them for a week and that, in his opinion, the JD won hands down so that's what he bought.
