JD 4100 HST, Craftsman YS4500
I am toying with the idea of selling my JD 4100 HST, with a JD
261 rear-mount mower. I only have 65 hours on it and like it,
but I could really use a backhoe now and think the BX22
might be a possibility. Given that the tractor is mint
and has only been used for mowing, what do you think
I could sell it for ? I am simply researching the matter
and would happily keep it. I will only do this if I could
get sell it for a decent price. I only wish the BX22 was green !
Thanks to all ! :)

Boy, that's gonna be tough...considering the new tractor interest rates.

...that is what I figure, but the beauty of researching this
matter is I don't care either way. I am happy with what
I have and enjoy the tractor, but if I could get a deal, I would
look at a BX22. Unfortunately, that tractor came out about
9 months after I bought mine :-| I have to say, that Kubota
and John Deere are not in the same league as far as marketing goes. The Kubota website is awful and the amount of corporate sales info is very poor compared to John Deere.

Thanks for your input Roy /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Interesting, I recently had the same question. I have a 98 model 4100 with a FEL and the dealer told me to ask $9800 for it when I advertise. I think that price is a little low but considering I have about $15K in it, if I took a $5000+ loss for 300 hours of use, I said no, I'll wait a year or two before considering selling again. In my case, I was looking at the new B7800 or a 2910 for the HP and BH capability. And in a year or two, good used 7800s will start to appear. So I will wait for now.
In your case, I think your 65 hours of use will cost you dearly, no pun intended. But like a car, why would someone buy used if there was not a good incentive in it for the buyer, like $2-3K under new; probably at a minimum. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I have always been a JD fan but I must say if buying today I most likely would have went with the BX22. I only wish I had a better idea of what I needed before I bought. As for the high re-sale value...not much good if you can't sell it. I guess I will have my 4110 for a few more years...
