John Deere 4066R Cab w/ H180 and 4-in-1 Bucket
What is a reasonable price for this tractor... In terms of negotiating the dealer down.

2012 New John Deere 3520 with Deluxe Cab, and 300x loader, with Air ride seat.

Dealer quoted 35,000 the other day... I'm thinking about standing firm around 30,000 ... Thoughts?

That seems on the high side. I just took delivery of my 3720 Premium Cab and a 300CX loader a few weeks ago. The dealer charged me $36,635. I would think there would be a greater pricing difference between the 3520 Deluxe Cab and a 300X loader. The retail on mine was $42,315. I am not sure what the list is on your setup.

Mutton Power in Indiana (I found from their ad on this site) has a 3520 with cab and 300x loader for $31,299. When shopping for my 3032e, I found their prices to be very competitive. I ended up with JD Equipment in Columbus since they had a slightly lower price and are only 30 minutes from me.

I figure about 18% off list is about right, hard to put a number on a tractor with all the various options that can make a big difference when comparing.

Here is what I have so far... I've called about 5 dealers.. and so far, the lowest goes to one whom I'm not even in the AOR (Area of Responsibility)...

One of the dealers told me the 3320 was underpowered as is with the eHydro.. especially so with the extra cab weight.. so, he suggested the 3520.

The options I'm telling everyone is...

John Deere 3520
- Cab,
- 300X Loader,
- Wide R4 Tires,
- eHydro,
- Rear SCV,
- Rear Work Lights Kit,
- Cruise+LoadMatch + SpeedMatch + Motion Match Switches,
- Air Ride Seat,
- Cab Speaker and Radio Mount Kit
- Factory Installed Stereo, Speakers, and iPod Kit

Factory MSRP: $37,700
Lowest Thus Far: $30,592

I think the latest price you have is a very fair price. Just curious why you are going with the 300X loader instead of the 300CX? I also would recommend that you find the best value which sometimes is a little more than the best price. For me the dealer experience is very important and worth a few extra dollars to work with a dealer who goes the extra mile and wants to build a long lasting relationship. Ten years ago I ended up buying a New Holland only because the JD dealers in my reasonable driving area had a take it or leave it attitude. Since then a new dealer has opened in the area and his whole team of people are great. I ended up buying my last two from him and completely happy with his sales and service.

I think that is a good price, better than 18% by a few hundred bucks. How about ballast for tires or cast iron weights? Are telescopic link arms available? Do you need a block heater or anything else? I would include all of this with the initial purchase.

Tractor wasn't supposed to be here until the 25th, and Loader+MX5 was supposed to be here last week.. got word, that the tractor arrived yesterday, and they are just waiting on shipment of MX5 and loader to get here -- then install, and then delivery. So probably will have it by the end of this week, or on the 25th (next Tuesday).

Well... I went down to the dealer today to check out the tractor and to sign some papers on it. They just got the loader in, and the other bundles.. still waiting on the MX5. They have yet to install ANY dealer options though; so it's just bare bones from factory (except for stereo, which actually sounds good).

At first sight.. I thought it looked goofy as ****.. really small tractor, really big cab.. awkward looking. However, I have high hopes that once the loader is installed, and the fender flares are installed, with wider stance rear tires -- it will look better.

To my surprise, the interior of the cab was actually really roomy... and I'm a big ole' feller...

Anyway.. here are some preliminary pictures I took while @ the dealer today...

Well, she is finally here!

Delivered the tractor today -- MX5 should be here tomorrow; and the mirror (was broken on delivery to dealer).

Pictures below! Rained about 2" here last night, so everything is soaked -- can't wait to get it out there and try it out. The dealer ended up NOT flipping the tires; said it was only going to add 1.5" to the stance. Guess I will do that; or get spacers.

I'm more pleased with it's appearance now that the loader is on.

The mirrors seem good; haven't adjusted them yet though -- but they do add an extra "knock the **** outta your head" step to getting out of the cab entry door on exit!

Now I'm off to the shop to put on the Grab Hooks I ordered a few weeks back!
