Re: 1026R or 2320 or 2520
Excellent summary.......pretty much the same conclusions I came to before I bought my 2520. I think the 2520 is the "sweet spot" in the smaller CUT tractors from JD, with an excellent balance of value and capeability. Nothing is "Cheap" today, but I do think you get your money's worth with the 2520 model.
I have the quicktatch angling blade on my rig for snow plow duty, also with the R4 tires. I originally plowed snow with my X495, but always had to use chains, which are a PITA to put on IMHO, so I was hoping to be able to plow snow without chains, with the 2520.
On advice from members on this forum, I purchased a ballast box as well, as some folks said it will make all the difference when pushing snow. They were right on about that. When I first plowed snow, I decided to not attach the ballast box for the first try. Everything was fine, pushed about an 8" snowfall without too much trouble, worked a lot better that the old X495 set up. The next time I decided to add the BB. WOW.....what a difference.......the thing was like a bulldozer.......an absolutely amazing difference with the BB attached.
I also have about a 5 acre property, however, for the most part, my snowplowing is pretty much a flat area, so it's kinda hard to compare, but I certainly don't need chains with my set-up.
Here's a pic of my 2520, and an example of the snow I've plowed. This was taken in 2011........really didn't get much in 2012. The banks behind it are well over 5' high.

I looked at other manufactures Kubota, New Holland, Massey, and Bobcat. I scratched New Holland and Bobcat right away....first I was like WOW I can get a lot more machine for less money than Deere. Then I started looking at how these units were made and the fact that NH and Bobcat doesn't even make this units!
Congratulations on your new machine. I just purchased a 2720 and also looked at New Holland. Unfortunately John Deere doesn't make their 2x20 tractors either. They are made by Yanmar. No worries though.
When you say you bought the heavy duty bucket, which one did you get? The 200CX loader can be optioned with a 49", 53" or 61" bucket.
I do see a 61" heavy duty bucket listed (BW14764) which is described as having a replacable cutting edge but it doesn't list it as compatible with the 200CX.
Just curious as I will be purchasing a 200CX for my 2720 in the spring.
Re: 1026R or 2320 or 2520
Congrats on your new machine!! You will love the 2520 for sure.
As others mentioned,a BB is a big must. Not just for traction, but for your loader counterweight. Don't forget to swap out the rears too,to the wider position. Your reason for the HD bucket is the same for me too. I am constantly fixing our road and back dragging gravel will definitely takes its toll on the edge. Enjoy your new machine.:)

It is compatible.

That sounds great. Do you know the weight difference between the regular and heavy-duty 61" bucket? Is the HD 61" quick-connect?

I don't know the weight difference...I looked it up but cannot remember, it's fairly neg.
It is a 61" quick-connect bucket.

I am not sure if I will get the ballast box or not...if I plan on ever moving anything dense I will. Right now I plan on using it for snow, mulch, and deer. Maybe some firewood.
I cannot see me having anymore than about 300 lbs in the bucket...for this the loaded tires should do fine.

The HD bucket is compatible...I know Yanmar makes parts of this tractor, it still is assembled by Deere in GA AND I can deal with Japanese...not Indian or Chinese.

Yep, you will be fine for what your gonna do now with the loaded tires. You may need 4wd at times due to spinning the rears at times. My rears are loaded and can work with dirt or gravel just fine, unless Im gonna load into something that I want to raise the loader more than halfway up, then additional weight is a good idea to a must on the rear.
Congrats on the 2520, you will love it!! My first was a 06 traded at 320hrs for the 08 I have now and at 330hrs, neither has ever been back to the dealer for anything!
