Im not sure how many of you get to run the bigger machines. I have run the big stuff as well as the small machines. I thought this would be interesting to some of you what some of the good old iron is bringing. I was in High School when the 4960 came out and it was a nice machine. I have allot of fond memories on an old JD 4650fwa.

Everything is relative I guess, i don't consider 1990s' to be old iron, maybe I'm getting old.

1993 tractor is merely "pre-owned" equipment.
40 year old tractor is old iron
50-60 years old is classic iron
60+ years old is vintage or antique iron.

Twenty years old in my opinion is old granted it aint antique. If you dont think its old take a look at a twenty plus year old car thats used everyday and see what it looks like. :)

Around here I see twenty year old tractors at antique shows. I think it all depends on your age. Antique is also reffered to Classic around here.

My JD 2030 is 39 years old and I do not consider it an antique yet. ;)

Looks like a nice well taken care of tractor. A new one wont do anthing it wil not do. Whats hanging down in front that looks like a set of balls? is that homemade weights?

my son "hung" a set of kettlebells used in weight lifting they are 70 pounds a piece as a joke saying the tractor had b*lls , we used to use them on a smaller case 446 tractor as grader weights 005.jpg And that case was a 1974 so I guess it's an antique too !
