2012 5065e , 4WD, lease return with 150 hours including canopy for $21900. New warranty.60 mos, 0% plus 1500 rebate on 2nd implement . Brand new 553 FEL with global carrier and HD bucket for $5700. Frontier 1376 disc harrow for 2650 less 1500, net cost $1150. Appreciate advice on cost. Can't find any new 2012s near me. No more lease returns in area. A new 2013 might cost at least $4000 more I am told.

Often the suggestion is to "build your own" on the JD website and then compare the new cost to the used cost. Sounds like they are offering new financing on this unit. Rule of thumb seems to be most are able to negotiate approximately 15% off the web generated price.

I don't know how the price quote you received from this dealer stacks up against the "Build-your-own" suggested MSRP on JD's website. As other's have mentioned it's been reasonable to work for a sale price around 15% below the MSRP.

Couple of observations, however. This tractor is a year old and has time on the hour meter. Not much - granted - but, certainly enough to warrant a significantly better "deal" than 15% below MSRP - IMO. As well, the newer model E's will be available with a wet clutch 12x12 reverser transmission, body style changes including molded body panels (hood, fenders) and a cab option if you really wanna go all out!

So, if you're not in a real big hurry... it might be a good idea to sit on the sidelines for a while and see what comes up with the sun! (Or better yet.... see if your dealer won't "sweeten" the deal on that '12 model!)

When you guys say you get 15% below the Configurator does that tractor price have the 1500 rebate for 2nd implement already deducted? In other words, if I buy a 5065e 15% below Configurator I will then just haggle best price for my 553 FEL and Frontier 1376 disc. Or are you getting 15% off tractor and then getting 1500 off the 2nd implement too?

Nope... it's a package deal. You should reasonably expect 15% off the whole enchilada! (Likely more when you throw in the $1,500 rebate!)

Good luck.
