John Deere 3320 John Deere x758
As you all probably know, I have been forced into selling most of my equipment due to my wife leaving me. As stated before I will be back in the tractor buying mode once this is over. I recently sold my 4720 Cab tractor and loader. The backhoe attachment did not sell and I have a friend asking about the 485 backhoe to install on his 3320 open station tractor. According to my dealer I would need the following parts/kits to make the transition. Could someone please confirm these part numbers if you have done this swap in the past. It seems like a lot of money just to make the backhoe fit a tractor.

LVB25613 Adapter frame for 3320
LVB26064 Power Beyond Kit - I know this will need added to the tractor
LVB25611 Rockshaft assist

Total parts cost is close to $2,000.00

Thank you, John

I have looked into this and that cost is about spot on. I find it is hard to find a "reasonably" priced used backhoe unless you can swap the attachment hardware as well. If you need to also acquire the attaching hardware, before you know it you near the price of a new one without the concern regarding how it has been used/what might be wrong with it etc.

The rockshaft assist is actually the mounting plates that bolt to the tractor to mount the backhoe. I have the 447 hoe on my 3320. According to my manual, the mounting plates are the same for the 447 and 448 on the 3000twenty series. I know the 475/485 have a longer deck to clear on the cabbed models hence the adapter plate I guess. I bought my 3320 in 2008 and the RSA plates were $750.00 installed. I'm guessing you didn't take the plates off your 4720 before you sold it? $2000 sounds about right.

No I did not remove any plates from the 4720.

Yes that would be correct on price. The plates are stupid expensive. I would call around to some JD dealers and see if you could find some used ones. You could make the plates yourself if you are crafty with torch and welder. I went through this when I went from open 4520 to cab. I kept the 448 backhoe and plates to use on new cab 4520. JD dealer said plates and hoe would not fit new tractor. 1 hour in slight modification of plates with torch and welder and I had hoe mounted. Fit like a glove.

Hi...Do you know the part no for the mounting plates? I am about to purchase a used 2007 447 backhoe attached to a 3120..I am in the process of purchasing the power beyond kit (LVB25505). I just need to confirm the RSA plate number if you have them.
