Looking to buy a used early 2000s 5000 series to replace our 2940 4wd for around our place and was wondering what the differences are between the e's and m's? How do the featurss compare to say an older 5510? Our price range top is 25000 prefer under 20000

the M is a little heavier built and has all the bells and whistles and therefore a premium in price. The E is fine if you dont need to make a living on the machine every day.

The M stacks up better to the build of your 2940 than the E. Especially, the smaller 55 and 65 hp E's! The older, 40 series has some iron in the @ss!

IMO - in your budget range - I'd be looking for a good used 55 series. I don't think your gonna find much in either a 50x20 series or the 50x25 series for that money. Depends if you want a cab, 4x4.

Maybe a 5325 open station, 4x4 and 540 loader for around $25K.

he'd be able to get into an open station 5325, mfwd, loader with a 9x3 transmission and hours in the 2,500 range for his price. click this link and you can get an idea on pricing for a 5325 series. seems to be all over the place but you'll get a general idea.

I've seen plenty of 5055E's for around 20k. (Open station, 4WD with loader is what I need). But the jump to the 5065 and the M series increases the price quite a bit.

Not sure where you're located at, but there's a dealer in TX selling brand new 5055E w/553 FEL for $29,873. Best of luck in your search.

Not bad for brand new. If Deere offers 0% financing I would consider jumping on that. Just a little high for us right now.

They are running 0% financing for 60 months... and something like 1.9% for 72 months... I'm very close to getting a new 5045e w/553 FEL and tiller using the 0% myself... a little high for me now too but next year the gov is mandating a bunch of EPA crap that will drive up costs and add a lot of potential issues... best of luck whatever you do.
