Buying Advice Which one - x320 or x500?

I am looking to replace my cub cadet 2185 with a deere.

I have been to two dealers and one suggested a x320 and the other x500. I have 3/4 acre to mow but a lot of snow to move. I need to blow because of a row of pines that limits the depth you have to plow. I have some grade on the driveway but the cub with 4 suitcase and wheel weights had no problems.

Find out what trans are on them. Stay away from the K 46, too weak.

I have the X500 and it's an awesome machine. The X320 is a lawn mower and the X500 is a garden tractor built for heavier work. If all you had to do was the mowing then I'd recommend the X320 but for your snow blowing the X500 would be a better choice. Also get HDAP rear tires, they will improve your traction significantly.

I have the x320, don't think it can handle snow blowing. It's a lawn tractor, not sturdy enough IMO

Thanks for the input. I went and looked at the x500, nice. I don't like not having a filter on the trans. The 26 hp kaw should throw the snow with the 44" blower.

The 300 series is rated to handle a snow thrower or push plow, I don't think JD would warrenty it and then add the snow equipment if it couldn't handle it. My uneducated perception of the difference between the 300 series and 500 series is the 300 is more geared towards mowing and front mounted equipment (push plows and blowers) and the 500 series is more geared for mowing and both front mounted and rear mounted equipment ( push and pull plows, blowers, grading equipment, etc). Those more knowledgeable will probably be able to clarify better than I.

The 500 series would be a better choice if you have alot of snowblowing to do.

I agree The 500 series will be a better fit for the intended use and provide longevity.
