I'm looking at these two - my wife prefers the idea of JD..Kubota seems a few less $$

If there's anyone out there who chose either of the JD compacts I mentioned over the Kubota for any reasons to do with the performance of the machine (ie assuming the dealers are equally good) - I'd be really interested to know why they did.

Anyone who knows these machines' capabilities and can post a comparison, I'd be grateful...I am a tractor newbie btw - I will use the loader and also run rear PTO driven implements. I don't expect to use a MMM

I don't have either but we have sold some 4115s and I really like them. I find them to be very well built. The 4115 has 19.9 PTO hp and the Kubota has 20. Deere is a 3 cyl. and Kubota a 4 cyl. 4 cyls are for the most part smoother running engines than 3 cyl. Deere is a 2 speed hydro and Kubota a 3 speed. The kubota has a little bigger wheelbase. If I had the choice I would go with Deere because I have had good luck with them and I like the 2 pedal hydro over a treadle pedal design. Drive both and see which one you like best. Hope this helps ya out some.

I have a 2710 and can't imagine only having 2 ranges on the HST. I'm not at all familiar with those JD models.

I have over 900 hours on my B2710 with no problems. Always had maintenance done at the specified times. I am sure JD can say the same about their models.

Since the introduction of the B7800 The kubota dealers I talked to at all the fairs tell me it's pretty hard to sell the 2710. Unless you need the added features of the 2710 the 7800 is hard to beat.

Aren't these JD models more closely compared to the Kubota B7500 and B2410, at least in terms of horsepower?

well if you look at PTO horsepower, according to the brochures

Kub B2410 18.2
Kub B2710 20.4

JD4110 17
JD4115 20

so I guess the B2710 is a fair match for the JD4115 - they are similar money here (JD seems a little more $$ actually) - what I can't decide is which would be better.... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I have had my 4110 for about a year now and am very pleased with it. I got the HST and am glad I did. ( I wasn't sure at first) My little tractor has done everything I have asked it to and even suprised me a time or two with it's ability. Sure I may have to make an extra pass or load than with a bigger tractor, but the job still gets done. If you are considering getting a belly mower, then I would certainly suggest the Deere. It's a snap to take off and put on ( 10 mins max) Good luck with you ssearch

I have a 4100, but I think the 4115 is the best for the bucks. i hope you find the best price for it.

How did you go about putting a turbo on your 4100? Or are you kidding?
