John Deere 110
I am about to pull the trigger on a 2005 110. It has all purpose front bucket and aux hyd. On the hoe but no aux. Hyd on the rear of the tractor which I am told can not be added. My question is 1- am I going to be sorry I did not get rear hyd? What attatchments do you use these for. I cant seem to come up with anything I would use them for. I think the only reason I would take off the hoe is for a york rake or mower. 2. Are parts becoming or going to become difficult to get as these machines are discontinued? Not sure what JD was thinking:confused:
Thanks.

They use a thumb on the BH.

Welcome to TBN.
If it was me, I can't see taking a backhoe off a 110 so you could hook up a rake or mower. If you need to use a rake or mower don't buy the 110TLB but get a tractor of the HP needed that you could easily put 3 pt equipment on. Use the 110 as a TLB. I don't have one but know many people that do and none have ever taken the BH off. This is just my opinion.

I take my backhoe off / on all the time as needed. I use the rear hydraulics for top n tilt on my box blade or my rake. I also use the rear hydraulics to angle my back blade that I use for snow. I do run a 25a flail mower on my 110

There is no factory way to add the 3 pairs like would come from deere, but there are ways to 'cheat'. I have seen someone tee off of the front aux hydro lines (good for one set), or it would also be possible to add remotes/ control valve block inline with the large bypass hose that is looped back to the tractor when the hoe is off. I will say it is hard to find them for sale with the rear couplers, very hard to find one that is worth buying with the option, and next to impossible to get a good deal on a good one with that option.... unless it comes without the hoe....

May I ask how the 110 does with the 25a? what blades do you use on it, the 'Y' blades or the smooth cut 'spoons'

Thanks for the input-I do not think I will need the rear remotes-Anybody add a set using the hyd. feed for the hoe? Pictures? I thought I could rig them with the hoe feed if I found I needed them. Finding a good used machine is tough enough and I hate to let this one go too look for one with the rear Hyd. It has an all purpose bucket and aux. hyd. on the hoe which I feel will be more useful than the rear hyd on the tractor plus I am already over my budget.

Lots of people have tractors without any rear hydraulics, I would not wan't one without them. I bought a 2005 110 with all hydraulic options and made good use of them with the Gannon box blade. The topntilt hitch requires two sets and the scarifiers require one set, so three sets can be very useful.

FWIW, I bought mine new and after nine years I am very satisfied with it, hope you enjoy yours too.

I do not have any pictures of the bypass hose used to supply a control valve assembly, but it can be done. You will have to be careful to select parts that are rated for the pressure, and more importantly the flow required. I may have a few pictures of the front line being tee-ed off to the rear. I Agree with Jenkinsph to buy all options (that cant be added later) when getting new, but that is no longer an option for the 110, so if you really like the one you are looking at, consider getting it. The only thing I can suggest for you be extra careful of is the loader mounts at the transmission case/housing, there are a few cases of them cracking. If you do buy a 110 get a skid plate and consider getting the out-rigger cylinder guards.
