2210 or 4010

I use my FEL lots.
I get around just fine with the bucket full of dirt or rocks.
My front end has never hit the ground for having little tires.
I can tell you one thing, it beats a shovel and wheel barrel. So you guys can have an opinion if you want, but, mine is there is nothing wrong with having a FEL on a 2210.

Yup, the 210 loader on the 2210 is a great combination. I never noticed any issues with the smaller front tires--same size as the BX and BX TLB. My 4110 with 410 loader is bigger, stronger and faster, but I never came up short using the 2210/210 including digging out sidewalks, moving rocks, and digging stumps after Isabelle last year. There is a 20" diameter stump stuck in the 48" bucket in the attached picture. I figured the stump weighed in at about the limits of the loader--700 pounds, or so. No relief valve kicked in, and I had about 750 pounds of ballast on the back--box blade + suitcase weights. I know my 410 loader would have been faster at the task, but the front tires and lower axle clearance made no difference in managing this load.

I agree the 2210 with the 210 loader works great for me.
Pete the 2210 actually has larger front tires than the BX and BX TLB. 10" wheels on the JD vs 8" on the Kubota.

I can't tell you all how much I appreciate the information provided by everyone who responded to my original question.

Unless something changes (I hit the lottery and can afford a 4100), it looks like i'll be getting the 2210. I'm trying to tell the wife that if I get the loader now we can save approx $400 (in addition to the $300 savings that JD provides for purchasing two implements at once) because I can clear a part of our property that we were planning to hire some with a skid loader to clear for us.

I have talked with almost every JD dealer in the area, and their advice is to either go with the 2210 or upgrade to the 4100 due to the 60" deck mowing reqirement and the fact that my field is on a hill. It seems the best price I can get on the 2210's are as follows:

Tractor, 62" deck, prepped for loader - $11,000
Tractor, 62" deck, loader - $12,900

I need to verify this, but I do not think the 12,900 price includes suitcase weights to counterbalance the loader.

Do you guys typically get the box scraper instead of weights? Is the scraper heavy duty enough to be used over an untilled field to help even things up?

Hey Koz,

Mine was $12,900 something, came with the ballast box. Often times I use the box but there are times I use the box blade. Either will work.
The 48" Box Blade will work good. Be a little slower than the rest, but keep to it. It will take some practice. Start in an area that can't be seen much. If anything like me the first time you just make a big mess!! Keep adjusting that top link.

Here is a pic of what we did yesterday. 10 Cubic yards of mulch. Didn't take very long at all.
