I recently bought a 2003 GT235 w/48" mower. It is a little rough but runs and mows very good. Has 704 hours on it. The seat is the worst part, it's shot. The hood has some damage but not too bad. It has a new battery purchased just a few days earlier. Everything works like it should. I gave $1000 for it. Does that sound about right?

I just wanted to know if that was about what they are valued at. As long as it gives me good service without a lot of break downs I will be very happy with it. The only thing that needs some immediate attention is the seat.

They're a good, solid and reliable machine. You can get an upper hood and decals for about $160 and a new Stens seat for $85 or so. Give it a good once over, change all the fluids and you should have many years of reliable service . I always buy the repair manuals for my tractors, and I picked up a 235 manual for $60. Good luck!

I sold my GT242 in 2014, bought it brand new in 1995, regular maintenance was all i ever did on it mowing 2 acres, i destroyed the hood on it, wish i had kept it for little chores around the yard.
