I put Down on a 3020 Diesel Deere, I'm paying 7700 and delivered to my house, it has 4800hrs. great tin and tires at 80 percent, this is a '66 model. going to use for snow blowing and light field cutting. will be kept inside and plan on having heater to plug it in. is this tractor in good condition worth it??

John,
I wouldn't say it's not worth it but you're not getting any great deal on it. The 4020's, considered one of the best jd ever put out, go for around 6000-8000 around here. If it's in good shape like you say though it's not a bad deal either. Probably like paying high book for a car, at least in relation to the Iowa area.

I have a book that lists 4 3020 models in 1966...

Model CuIn Type low-high
------ --- ----- --------
3020 227 gas $3300-$6300
3020 270 diesel $3600-$6700
3020 HC 241 gas $3700-$6900
3020 HC 270 diesel $4000-$7500

The "HC" stands for "High Clearance"... All have about the same PTO hp (70.5-71.5).

This is a new book (for me) and I'm not sure how accurate everything is!??! This should give you an idea...
