I recently purchased a JD 5420 in Texas. For those who are shopping JD pricing, here is what I got. I ended up getting just under %18 discount off of list pricing. See the attached file for the itemized breakdown.

I also priced a 5425, a newer version of the 5420 that will be availabel in 3/2005, with one dealer. They only discounted %12.5 and the list pricing seems to have gone up by around %10 or so.

I like the JD list pricing on the web and their configurator. It sure helps when working with a dealer on pricing a tractor.

Thanks for taking the time to post your pricing.

Looks like you got virtually the same exact machine my father in law has. Very, very nice tractor. His now has about 300 hours and no problems to speak of. I should know, I put about 80 of the last 100 hours on it.

I wonder what his is worth being a 2002 model w/300hrs???

Good luck, be careful.
What part of Texas do you live?

You will be hard pressed to find pricing from completed sales on a 5420 so its hard to know what to price it at. There just aren't that many used ones on the market. You can find 5x10s and older series for sale, but just not many of the new ones.
