As some of you know, last week I posted a question concerning the $4,000 trade price difference between my current MY 2001 4300 and a new 4310 to help out a friend.
What I am mulling now is the possibility of bypassing the 4310 for a new 3570. Although I may not be solving his 4310 problem, he didn't seem to mind the idea of selling me a new 3570 either.

So, I would be trading my 4300 hydro w/ 430, 72" mower for a 3570 with a 300X, 7 iron 72"er.

What would be the right number?
As always, thank guys for your responses.

George,
I am assuming you mean the 3320?
Anyway, off the top of my head, I would figure that you are looking at an additional $3k or so. Just my guess.
I know the 3320 has quite a higher price than the 4310, and there are no real cash incentives on the new 20 series.
Let's see what others think also.

I think it would be best for you to try out the 300-20 series. If you have a hydro, check out the motion match. The short and long are preset at 5, and there's more to go to quicken it up although the default is much more responsive than the short rollout/fast response of the 4000-10 series in my experience.

I don't follow the "help out a friend part, where does he fit in?

I tested a 4410 against a 3520. They both had 300cx loaders and E-hydro. The price difference was @ $1500. I went with the 3020 series for 2 reasons 1: The short/long run out is like night and day between the 2 series. The 3020 series is very responsive. 2: The 4010 series is a leftover. They are a great tractor, but they are not made anymore. If you had to trade or sell your tractor in a few years. The 3020 series should have a Higher value.
I ordered a 3720. It was only $1800 more than the 3520. The 3520 is a great tractor, but in 6 months I would have been wishing for MORE POWER. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

One of my best friends is an commercial insurance salesman.
His family used to own a large Ford tractor and implement dealership until they closed it in 1989.
He moonlights as a salesman for one of his JD clients.

He has a new 4310 sitting at my place because the unit was sold and removed from floorplan. Well, the deal didn't work out and since the dealership is over an hour away, he stored the thing at my place.
So, he offered me to trade off my 01' 4300 w/ 380 hours and 4K for the new 4310
4k? I'm interested..

Anyway, I just saw the new 3000 series.
It's just me thinking of how I want to spend some money.
I kind of like the little turbo on the 3520, and it may come in handy while cutting thick grass.
So... the wheels in my pea brain started turning....

George,

If you are looking for a mid frame tractor, and the issue previously discussed about the 4310 has lessened, I would strongly suggest getting a 3720. As you said, it is not too much more expensive than the 3520 you saw. I have just gotten a 3720 and just begun using it. I had a 4310. The 3720 is a lot more powerful and I think even though similarly sized, will do a good bit more than the 4310 due to the additional horses. The difference between a 3520 and a 4310 is pretty small, just slightly more than the difference between the 4410 and 4310. The main thing the turbo offers is increased torque. A commonly missed fact is that even though the 3720 has 12 more horses than a 4310, for example, it has almost 30 foot pounds more torque, which is a lot. This would allow it to do a lot more at lower RPMs and certainly benefits its PTO power. Given the difference in price, I would trade to a 3720 if I traded at all.

Is the chassis size the same between the two?

I've made up my mind. Thanks guys.

I'm ordering a 3520 with a 72" 7 iron and a 300X 73" FEL.
Just not enough difference between the 4300 and the 4310.
My buddy has another buyer for the 4310, so all is well, and he's going to place this order next week.
Any more suggestions on how to outfit this unit?
Thanks.
