I will eventually figure out what tractor I am going to buy, but only if you help me spend my money. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Local dealer has 4310 with 15 hours on lot being sold as new

4310 ePower 14890.00
300X loader 2892.50

To order a 3320 Hydro

3320 Hydro 16300.00
300CX loader 3300.00

Tractors are similarly equipped except for hydro. The 4310 doesn't seem quite discounted enough to me.

Is the 3320 quote a fair price? Would it be worth going to a 3520 for another $1500?

I understand you to say that the ePower is not Hydro. Is it power reverser?
If they are not both HST (hydro), I don't see any good reason (basis) for making a comparison between the two (as the pro's and con's of power reverser vs HST would enter in the discussion).

But I would go with the 3520 (with the CX FEL). /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The quote has the 4310 with the reverser and the "x" not "CX" loader.

There is nothing wrong with a reverser. But there is no savings in this deal, in the long run, you may have wished for the newer model, just for the better visibilty in loader work.

Now, the loaders is a different story. Politely refuse the 300x. Get the CX loader. NOBODY wants the wimpy loader when they can get the good one for a few hundred more.

Is the 3520 a better option? Probably. There is no question if you are at high altitude. But no one ever complains about TOO much power. If you can swing it, get it!

I just opted out of a 4310 for a 3570/300CX loader.
Hopefully, it'll be in by next weekend.
For a few bucks more, you should get the turbo power IMHO.

Just took delivery on 4310 on 3/24 and went about the same debate. Looked at the 3320 at one dealer and ended up with the 4310 at another. $$ were not that different. With regard to hours 15 is nothing I did that in just three days and there were 3 hrs when delivered.
I have the 430 FEL / 48 BH / and 6' box blade and 3rd SCV for the rear implement. I have worked this tractor very hard in a short period of time and it has done everthing asked of it.

The 4310 is PowerReverser. Only reason I'm comparing is that the 4310 is on the lot and can be mine in a day, but I prefer the eHydro on the 3x20 but have to order. My wife drove both HST and PR on the lot and she was much more comfortable on the HST. She told me she would learn either, but anything to keep her happy since she is the boss.

I know power is a good thing -- but what will the additional 5 PTO HP gain me on the 3520. Bigger mower? Cutter? Or just that little extra oommph when you need it?

Thanks

none of the options you present are bad. go with any of them, and you will have a great machine. I would just say that you should be able to do better on the 4310's price, since it is really the same as the 3320 (if that had reverser and the little loader...)

I believe the Ehydro option adds $1200 list doesn't it? That and the loader spec difference tightens things up a lot. I'd consider pricing the 3520 and see what you can have it for in real money.

The larger fuel tank and improved hydro response is a big plus in my opinion. Yes, the fuel efficiency is great and all, but less times with a fuel can(s) tipped up and less frequent fueling requirements may allow you to get to a filling station more often...
