NEW 4210, 4310, 4410, 4510, 4610 AND 4710 TRACTORS

The new 4000 TEN Series tractors bring many exciting enhancements to the compact tractor
market. New transmissions, easier-to-use controls, and many exclusive features enable the
4000 TEN tractors to set new standards for functionality, versatility, and usability.

NEW POWER
Gross engine horsepower has been increased on two of the models.
• The 4210, replacing the model 4200, increases two full horsepower to 28 gross engine
horsepower.
• The 4610, replacing the model 4600, receives a one horsepower increase to 44 gross
engine horsepower.

NEW TRANSMISSIONS
Two new, innovative transmissions have been added to the 4000 TEN Series lineup.
The new eHydro is an electronically controlled hydrostatic transmission available on both
mid- and large-chassis tractors (excluding the 4510).
The new ePowrReverser is an electronically controlled reverser transmission (replacing
the current SyncReverser transmission) and is available on the 4310 and 4410 models. The
ePowrReverser is exclusive in the market by being the only power reverser available on a
mid-chassis tractor.
Also, the current SyncShift transmission is now available on large-chassis two-wheel-drive
tractors, replacing the current CST (collar shift transmission).

NEW CONTROLS
New 4000 TEN Series tractors equipped with eHydro electronically controlled hydrostatic
drive transmissions also feature a new operator control system called eTouch controls. This
system provides for easy electronic engagement of PTO, MFWD, and hydrostatic drive pedal
functions.
The eMatch Operating System, an enhanced electronic operating system, allows the
tractor operator to "custom tailor" the tractor transmission responses to the job at hand. These
new features include:

• SpeedMatch - the ability to set a preset maximum speed
• MotionMatch - the ability to select rate of deceleration
• LoadMatch - the ability to prevents engine stalls

Automotive-style cruise control, allowing on-the-go acceleration or deceleration, is available
as an option to this system.

All of the above features are exclusive to John Deere compact utility tractors.

NEW HYDRAULIC OPTIONS
Third selective control valves will now be available as factory installed equipment in the same
manner as dual selective control valves. Control for this popular option has been conveniently
relocated next to the operator seat.
All rear hydraulic couplers have been increased to half-inch size and relocated on the rear
accessory bar. A new electronic diverter valve, controlled with a button on the joystick, is also
available to provide 3rd and 4th or 4th and 5th SCV functions.

NEW iMatch QUICK-ATTACH SYSTEM
One of the greatest customer dissatisfiers involves
difficulty in attaching tractor implements. John
Deere has addressed this issue with the new
iMatch Quick-Attach System.
The iMatch system provides easy hookup and a
guaranteed fit for all Category I implements that
are designed to meet the ASAE* Category I
standard S287.6 for quick-attach hitches.
The iMatch quick-attach coupler will be available
as a 9000 code added to your tractor order.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Sales manual and pricing information for the new 4000 TEN Series tractors will be released in
November 2001.

doctordeere,

Is this the text of an official Deere bulletin? Sounds fascinating.

Now we'll have a 4310 and 4610 in both Orange and Green. Theoretically, Kubota could bring a tradename suit. Not saying they should, or that they could win it, but that would spice things up.

Nope. You cannot protect a number from trademark infringement. (That's why Intel went to the name "Pentium", instead of "586".)

I was thinking the same thing, although Kubota's models are officially the 'L4310' and 'L4610' while Deere will have the '4310' and '4610'. I think if Deere brought out an 'L4310' and 'L4610', then we might see some action. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

When Porsche first came out with the 911, they wanted to name it the 901, but that number was already taken by another carmaker.
