2305 vs 05\' 2210 used. Help choose one?

1st thanks for your previous help. This will be a little long but any help is appreciated. Please at least just post a reponse back stating either 2210 or 2305 /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I've decided to not trade my garden tractor in on a 2305 and instead purchase straight out. Of couse today my dealer tells me he has something else that just came in /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif . He has a 2210 that was purchased last Feb (05) with a 210 loader and 62c deck. I was looking at a 200cx & 62c on the 2305. So basically they same setup. He will sell it to me out the door for $3000 less than the 2305 out the door would cost. The 2210 looks very nice with only some minor marks. However the previous owner's main use was the loader. Should that along with the 360 hours concern me? I heard these machines are bullet proof. It does have the 1+ year of warranty left along with an additional 2 years Powertrain warranty. I will could keep this tractor for 10+ years but if I chose to sell either in 3-5 years would the 2305 still be worth $3000 more than the 2210??? I would think 5 years from now they would be pretty close in value even with the extra hours. Resale is a huge concern of mine. So please be honest as if it's your money on the table /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Lastly-200cx vs. 210 loader. What is the hydraulic System "rated flow?" The 210 is rated at 5.5 while the 200cx is less at 2.85. Is that a big deal. The 210 also has quicker raising & dump times. However the 200cx will lift 90lbs more.

Please help a confused buyer /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
Thank You!

JEH,

What price is this dealer offering these options to you at? $3000 less tells us very little. Also, the 200CX on the 2305 does NOT have increased lifting capacities. Either combination, however, will likely exceed the chassis size of the tractors. What are some of the tasks you might be interested in throwing at your tractor? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Re: 2305 vs 05\' 2210 used. Help choose one?

JDFANATIC,

Thanks for your reply. The tractor will be used mostly for mowing our 2a's. The loader will be used for light tasks around our acreage. Just your basic back saving tasks. It'll make those tasks much more enjoyable this spring /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The 2305 includes 200cx loader w/ 53" bucket, guard & level, 62c deck, and no independent left as I don't need it.

The 2210 includes 210 loader w/49" bucket w/guard & no level, 62c deck and of course many more hours.

Do you see any value in the larger bucket?

2305 price is basically $14,700ish (with the 7% sales tax included-ouch) out the door so that would put the 2210 at approximately $11,700 out the door. Sales tax needs to be paid /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif but is included. We haven't sat down "officially" with final numbers but said he could "save me" $3000 and still send me home with a warranted tractor.

Regarding the loader specs. I found them here http://www.stonehams.com/pdf/200x&200cx.pdf.

Below are the tractor specs taken directly from the JD owner's manual off the JD site. The 2305 is also a smaller machine, strange??

2210 overall width 47.2"
2305 overall width 44.9"

2210 overall length 104.3"
2305 overall length 102.6
includes 3pt hitch on both

I don't understand the hydraulic terms but it appears that the 200cx doesn't work as quickly??? Is it not made as well?? I know no one knows for sure. I'm just confused and want to make the right choice /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Go with the new 2305. If the former owner used the 2210 for mainly loader work it's been worked hard. Not even a year old and 360 hrs. Wow

Incentives may be a consideration too. There is free money to use for the new one. That's what made my decision.

Re: 2305 vs 05\' 2210 used. Help choose one?

JEH,

I read through the Stoneham specs and then compared them to mine printed from the Deere Intranet. There were some differences so I double checked them and found Deere has upgraded their specs:

Sorry about the way I posted this, but the only way I know of getting an Excel spreadsheet up here is to photograph it.

Anyway, the upgraded specs make sense, as the 200CX is also used on the 2520, which is the largest Deere offering in the small frame series.

What would I do? That is a hard question to answer. I might jump at putting the three grand in my pocket and go with the tried and proven 2210 (I would go to the 53" bucket though), or I might jump at the newer machine with a full warranty, and, as others have pointed out, possibly a sweetheart financing deal.

Have you driven both? That might be the determiner.

Good luck on your decision! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

RVtech,

Thank you for the heads up. If I go with the 2305, I will certainly take JD up on the 0% over 2 years. Appreciate your post /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: 2305 vs 05\' 2210 used. Help choose one?

JDFANATIC,

Thanks for your reply & the spec sheet. I have not driven the 2305. They will be getting a couple in shortly, so I'll have a chance to hop on one. It appeas to not be much different than the 2210. Other than it looks prettier /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif. So, once again I'm back to that resale point. I doubt I'll put more than 60 hours on it a year so in 5-10 years the 2210 won't seem as high with the few hours I'll put on it. However it's a tough argument to drop 300+ hours, and get the newer loader for another three grand. I'm not interested in spending a ton of extra money on a tractor, but want to get the most bang my buck as well as the best value for my dollar. I generall don't buy brand new but in this case I'm not afraid to do so.

One other thing I found. The 49" bucket on the 2210 only a 6 cubic while the 53" is a 7.8 cubic. The 49" seems to be a bit small for my needs (forgot to mention I'm planning to used it for snow removal as well), so I may not be happy with that smaller size. Though I could always put teeth on that one and use as digging tool and pickup a larger one for everyday duties (snow removal, mulch, ect). However again, that would add another $500-600 to the cost of the 2210. Ohhh, the confusion /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Lobo56,

Thank you! I want honest thoughts. Now, I know what's going to happen. It'll be a dead 50/50 split after all posts are counted /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Then I'll be back to square one and have to decide for myself.
