Just considering my next tractor. Looking at the 3203 w/hydro 32HP or the 3320 w/ehydro 32.5HP. What is the difference between the hydro types? Is ehydro worth the $2200 dollar difference? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

e-hydro rocks

I think they will have to drop the price on the 3203 big time to sell them.

JDGREEN4ME,

I've also been comparing the two tractors and there is more of a difference than the hydro. The 3203 was introduced as an economy tractor much like the 790 or 990. The 3320 has more bells and whistles.

For instance, the 3320 has the option for up to 5 remote valves where the 3203 only has 2.

The 3320 can lift 2200 lbs. @ 24" behind link arms and the 3203 can only lift 1868 lbs.

The 3320 has a flat rubber coated platform where the 3203 has a semi-flat metal platform.

The 3320 can use the stronger 300x or 300cx FEL where the 3203 only uses the 300 FEL.

The 3320 comes standard with a mid-PTO where the 3203 does not. (An expensive option.)

The 3320 has a helical gear final drive where the 3203 has a spur gear and the 3320 has more engine displacement. I was always taught there is no replacement for displacement.

However, the 3203 has a 75-amp alternator where the 3320 only has a 40-amp. Also, the 3203 has 12.2" of front axel clearance wher the 3320 only has 10.9"...go figure.

My point is you really do get a lot more for your money with the 3320. The differences are apparent when you park the two side by side.

Hope this helped. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hey Jeff, The 3320 does not come standard with the mid PTO. It is also an extra option on the 3320. Just so the facts look right.

Also noticed a few other differences:
6 lug rims on the 3203 vs 8 on the 3320
No folding ROPS on the 3203 - folding on the 3320
No cup holder on the 3203 - cup holder on the 3320
No auto cruise option on 3203 and it is and option on the 3320

I don't believe this to be the case. The configurator on JD's website indicates mid PTO as a $380.00 option.

The innability to use the 300X or 300CX loader seems like a pretty big problem to me.

Spec for lifting capacity to 1.5 meters height @ 500mm forward of the pivot pin (roughly the middle of a bucket):
300: 740 lbs
300X: 1312 lbs
300CX: 1649 lbs

Wow, that's a huge difference!

Got specs from HERE .

I'm in this comparsion as well and considering the two machine (agree with all the comments above regarding differences), but the big differences to me are the following: a) two speed hydro on the 3203 vs 3-speed hydro; b) e-hydro is much nicer and softer with load match; c) I can't believe there is no position control on the 3-point on the 3203 it like my little 2210 and of course, the 3320 has that feature, plus is much more deluxe all the way around and in my mind is a much nice fit.

There's NO option for a mid PTO on the 3203.

FWIW - I am still not buying that as the loader spec on the 3203. That is the number on the 790; but I am fairly confident that it will be over 1000 on the 3203. Unless the marketing guys insist that it stay at the 790's range...

I had the same decision a few weeks ago and went with the 3120/300CX for $900.00 more than the 3203/300. And the loader specs were what convinced me. My dealer quoted me the specs for both setups and while I don't recall the 3203's exactly, the 3120/300CX blew it away.

Did anyone mention that the 3203 has a two range transaxle while the 3x20 has a three range?

Guess I should not have used the word "also" in my post above. Anyway the 3320 has an option for the mid pto. There is no mid pto option on the 3203.

So who IS buying the 3203?? I doubt my dealers will carry them for awhile around here - too man 3X20s to sell off first.
