I bought a Lisle 63600 oil filter wrench and it takes the filter off with little effort. It is spring loaded and fits filters 2 1/2 to 3 1/8, works off of a 3/8 drive ratchet.

It's just like the one I bought about a year ago at the local NAPA store. Works great on my 4010 oil filter.

Yep... that's acutally what I use on my car filters any more too. My filter tools stay in the tool chest.

There's no space to get something like channel locks onto the oil filters on 2210/4010/4100 tractors. Those fingers are skinny and can go directly onto the filter.

Same thing for the fuel filter ring that holds the glass in place, if you have a FEL. Have to remove the bolt holding the fuel filter assembly in place and then rotate up (flex lines allow this) and then get onto the ring with channel locks. Not even room to get a punch onto the ring.

never had a problem with mine, and the FEL rarely comes off.
