My mother in law has a late 80's 318 tractor. It has the front hydrolic couplers a 48" cutting deck, 54" hydrolic blade for the front and chains and weights for the rear wheels. It has around 950 hours of use on the original hour meter and looks to be in great shape for this year range. Does not smoke on start up or idling either.

She was thinking about getting rid of it to get a zero turn mower for her two acres of lawn to cut.

If she does sell it what would be a good starting price to ask, she told me she was thinking $2500 to start.

Thanks in advance.

I was looking at a 1987 the other day at the JD dealer.
711 hours looked good.$1900 but no front blade chains or weights.
Also looked at a 455 about 500 hours looked nice. $3500.

2500 is a good starting point. those were great machines,i have a 316 and my dad and uncle both have the 318. my dads 318 went about 3k hrs b4 it started burning some oil, and my uncles has about 2k hrs on it w/ out any smoking. i'm assuming that it has the onan power plant, which is a good motor, plus the good heavy duty jd hydrastatic tranny. i purchased my 1991 316 2 yrs ago for 1600 w/ almost 800 hrs on it. i've seen them used at some of the dealers in my area for anywhere from 1300 up to 2700 depending on what they had for attachments/hrs/condition.
