The neighbor has probable mid ninty's JD garden tractor 2 cylinder (18-22 hp?) and he thinks briggs and straton engine. It's has starting issues, slow turning over. The engiine finally started and seems to run fine, once started. The usual trouble shooting as changing batteries and finally changing starters and still barley turns over. My old Dixon mower (single cylinder) has a automatic compression in the valve train somehow and does the same thing if the valves are out of adjustment. Could this 2 cylinder engine have a automatic compression release and be causing the hard starting? Thanks in advance. bjr
