X700 Series Hydraulic Lock Out Valve AM134625 Installation

All - I picked up my new X749 today and had ordered the AM134625 flow control valve to prevent deck travel when using my JBSr. I cannot seem to locate any installation instructions. I do see some commentary out there that it is very simple to do but don't see any info on exactly what to do. Any help or Insight would be greatly appreciated!

I just installed one on my X744 and it should come with instructions. It's pretty simple, look at where the hydraulic couplers are on the front right of the tractor from the underneath. They recommend moving the hydraulic levers to relieve pressure. There is only one on the lines going into the quick hydraulic coupler that has a 90 degree elbow. You remove the elbow and replace it with the Hydraulic Shut-Off. The only thing they did not mention is to attach the Shut-Off valve, I had to disassemble the knob to get clearance to screw in the Shout-Off valve around the other hoses which is no big deal.

PS: Congratulations on the X749, I sometimes wished I had gotten FWD to push snow.

So will I loose a ton of fluid when I break that connection? Any special instructions on threading it back up? I am new to hydraulic circuits so I am curious about introducing air into the system and or loosing fluid

I lost very little fluid doing this, I would have lost even less if I had dissassembled the knob prior to attempting the installation. There is no need to bleed the system. I did not want to force the fitting while screwing it in against the other hoses and it was pretty cold when I installed it, so the hoses were not pliable. The fitting has O rings and mine had not leaks, I just left a piece of paper underneath it for 24 hours just to make sure there were no leaks. No need for anything special for screwing it on, it just a simple replacement for the elbow. And yes, I was wondering if I would have alot of hydraulic fluid leak, it was very minimal. I assume you have the Front Quick Hitch already. The Shut Off comes with it or you can buy it separately. If you do not have the Front Quick Hitch and need to purchase it, you are buying something that is included with it's purchase.

I live about 55 miles one way from the closest Dealer and have average mechanical abilities. Here's a picture of the elbow that is removed to install the Lock Out Valve. Jim

As suggested, be sure that you don't already have that shut-off valve in place.

But no fluid to amount to anything will come out (relieve all pressure after shutting tractor off) and no worry about getting air in the system. It bleeds on its own, just to concur with what has been posted.

That elbow shows the male end that gets turned in, and the other male end that takes the capture nut to snug up.
