Hi all,

I have an L111 John Deere. It worked great last weekend now this weekend if you take off riding and engage the blade it instantly stops. If you sit still it runs fine until engaging the blade but instantly shuts down. Any thoughts on what this might be??????

Not sure of the cause, but try adding a little choke prior to engaging the PTO, it's worked for me on some JD mowers if they haven't warmed up enough...

Under the seat is a switch, it shuts off the engine when the mower is engaged if it thinks no one is sitting on the seat.

Check the position of that switch, if it's not in the correct place it won't register your weight.

It's happened to me a couple times.

Not sure just what "instantly stops" The engine? Forward motion? Mower blades?

Only happen when the engine is cold? Or when pressing forward pedal?
