John deere lt 155 fixer upper!

Hi to all, yesterday night I was given a John deere Lt155. It had had a tree crush it, but since it was free, i said why not!This morning I got tue blower shroud off, turned the key and off she went! I ecen used it a little today despite the bent front axle. I am going to restore this, and was discouraged when I found out a bew hood was $430. ouch!! Does anyone know where I can source one from? Mabie a member has a tractor I could purchase parts from? Thanks

Be careful this doesn't wind up being a money pit. No one wants to be the bearer of bad tidings but you could easily put more into this project than it is worth.

Yes im do have to be carful! I won a parts machine on ebay with a blown up motor for 310 buck. Not bad considering just to buy th hood would be $420.

Well today I finally made the 3 hour trek and picked this other machine. Here are the picks if the motor swap.My pops was hooking up the negative cable to the ground point on the motor, and he got zapped, then there was a cloud of white smoke any ideas? thanks

CLoud of white smoke will happen when you get a spark from grounding out a wire, how much smoke and was it from the Zap or from the motor?

Come to find out the other motor didnt have a voltage regulator so i unhooked it and it ran great! Cur all my hrass without a hickup..now just to sell and get my 318 hehe i
