discharge chute cover plate for X728
on my previous 48" deck with mulching blades i used a cover on the chute (had holes in it) that caused the grass/leaves to recirculate and chop up finer. also stopped the windrow from the chute guard.
is there a similar plate that would fit my new 54" deck?
TIA

Re: discharge chute cover plate for X728
I believe it's part of the mulch kit.

Re: discharge chute cover plate for X728
I have a mulching kit for my 54c deck and the kit includes three plastic inserts. Two of the inserts mount inside the decks above the blades and the third insert acts like a plug. It has a brass rod that is suppost to hold up the discharge chute but I removed the discharge chute and the brass rod. By the way, the mutching kit works great. I have the JD mulching blades and I can't wait to see how it works on leafs this fall.....just a few more weeks.
