737 ZTrack Kawasaki 23HP

Blew the engine (FH680D-AS04) and deere wants $3000 for the engine alone with no install. Seems as if Deere has this engine on a restricted list which you can't find it other than through your Deere dealer. I found a similar engine (FH680D-S08) which appears to be the same only doesn't have the shaft and pulley coming out the flywheel side oif the engine. This engine is around $1,800. Wondering if I can purchase it and bolt my shaft / pulley on it and be okay? The pully is used to drive the belt for the hydraulics on each wheel. Thoughts / Comments? Thanks,

I have the same problem described above. I have a John deere 737 with a Kawasaki FH680D Engine that is blown. Has anyone replaced the engine with a new Kawasaki FH680D-S08 or FH680D-S01 engine? If so, can you tell me exactly what modifications you had to make?
