Difference in price in zero turn mowers in Lowes and those on the JD website?

Just cruised through lowes and saw zero turns for around 2,500. But when you go the configurator you are suddenly looking at the 12,000 range! How can a zero turn have ten thousand dollars difference? And don't tell me deck thickness!!!!

Just to get started the hydro's used. Some I put at about 1,000 hours life and some I put at 10,000 hours. Engines and the frames and a whole lot more! Welded decks vs the stamped steel, It's more money for a comparable stamped deck the welded. If you don't have sandy soils you might find the stamped deck to work better.

Different series of mowers. Lowes has the lower-end Z2 and 400 series. You're seeing the Z900's which are the bigger commerecial mowers.
There is also a Z700 series, mid range.
