X7XX serial number ?

i have searched the web and am looking for how to read the serial numbers on my X728. i came up empty.

this is not something i urgently need, just curious what all the letters and numbers mean.

i don't want to bother the dealer, not something i actually need.

is there a chart that would explain how to read them?

the first few digits will include the model number,
M0X728........
later ones have the prefix 1 now

the last 6 digits are the serial number per say, with the first digit indicating
the model year if you have access to the chart.

If you are looking for the Date Of Manufacture, it should say that on the bottom right hand side of the S/N decal. On my X740 and 54C deck, it shows the exact day, month and year it was made in the bottom right hand corner. No need to try and decode the S/N.

just wondering what the other letters are for. there is a AECM before the 07XXXX
