Going to guess a little here........
On my 855 the pre heater light cycles for about 30 seconds or so.
I wonder if you start the motor before that time is up it continues to finish its cycle ?
Or if it stays on a significant amount of time after starting, that could be a problem with the timer ??

On my 955 it will stay on and finish the cycle.
