After much shopping around for a front-deck mower, I bought a used JD F925 72-inch mower this week. Seven acres to mow and I want more speed than my LX188 and JD5225 mowers can provide. Have to replace several items but it is functional.

Hope you like it as much as I like my 1996 TORO 325D.

That Toro is a tough looking machine.

I have an F680 front mount ZTR and by buddy has an F925. Both are excellent mowers but his 925 qualifies as one of the greats of all time. He has over 13,000hrs on it and his son still uses it for commercial mowing. Only thing done to the engine was new rings at about 12,000hrs.

That sounds great to me. I'm looking forward to years of mowing with mine.

Update on my F925: Since I bought it I've replaced the following items: PTO switch, rear tires, mower blades, and seat. Added 2 rear weights, welded the broken seat support, cleaned and unjammed the seat tracks. Today I ordered the rear-bumper power-steering-cylinder guard and the tow strap. And it really cuts that grass.

 Thanks for the update.

I think the front deck is the best way to mow! :D

Check the coupler between the motor and the transmission. On my F-935, I'm on the 3rd one. Also, drain the water separator (if yours is a diesel) and the PTO brake band.
