Hello all,
I picked up a used tractor over the weekend, a Scotts S2554, with 25hp Kohler and big 54" mower deck. 327 hours on the still functioning hour meter.

I bought it for fairly cheap, believing it had a bad head gasket. Well lo and behold, when I pull the head off and spin the fly wheel, the piston doesn't move.

New engines are about $1500, I don't anticipate being able to find a used one cheaply very quickly. I also doubt I would be able to get the engine for much less than I paid for the tractor.
I also probably don't have time to tear apart an engine, at the moment, unless anyone has any extra time to assist in the project? :)

The transaxle is a good and functioning Tuff Torq K66.
Deck is in very good condition.
Chassis and frame are in excellent condition. Very surprised, I haven't seen one this clean in a while.

So I think I could get what I paid for it out of the K66 alone, as they are getting harder to find and expensive
I might be able to get some money out of the deck, too.

Then there is the body and frame, not sure if they are worth anything or not.

Any other suggestions I may not have thought of?
