Are the mounting brackets on the snow plows for the JD 400 series tractors the same as the 300 series tractors? In other words, will a snow plow from a 400 series fit on a 300 series tractor and are the hydraulics the same?

I don't beleive they are the same, but you'll need to check the Deere dealer for certain. One series has dual hyd. control and except for the 345, I don't think the 300 series has it. But not all that familiar with the 300 series. I am assuming the 400 series you speak of is the 425, 445, and 455. The hitch on the X series is again different, as it accomodates a different PTO shaft to the blower and sweeper. However the 400 series will fit on the X, whereas the reverse isn't true.

The 54" plow itself and the cylinders to raise and angle it are the same, but the hitch to the tractor is different as the frames are different. It would help to know what model of the 400 series you are comparing with as there are variances in the 400's.

I think we need some clarification here.

Do you mean the old 300 series and 400 series (316, 318, 400, 420, 430, etc.. ) or the new series.

I have 318 and plow controls are hooked to hyd system. I didn't buy the plow
from neighbor and he still is trying to sell cab and plow as I only wanted the tiller and mower with it.
