Re: How many acres do you own/operate on?
This is a pretty neat thread, I always thought my little tractor was way too small for what I want to do, but reading through here it looks like I'm right in line with the majority of people.
My wife and I just recently bought 31 acres of some gently sloping and some steep area land in NH. It is almost ALL forested but the trees are relatively small.
I have a 45hp tractor with the attachments in my sig. We will use that to maintain and clear some land and eventually make some fields (I stress the word 'eventually'
)
We also have a full size backhoe that will help with the clearing, but will probably sell once we're done with initial clearing.Kubota L4610 and John Deere 410 - WR Long 64" Grapple (best attachment ever!) We have 51 acres in hilly Holmes county Ohio. We allow a dairy farmer to crop 30 acres. The rest is in woods and a small portion for homestead. We maintain with a JD 3720 and JD L130.

Re: How many acres do you own/operate on?
My new JD 3038E handles the routine stuff for 113 acres, all but 20 wooded. The gravel drive is 5,400 feet - a box blade and scraper blade keep it looking good. A 5 ft bush hog takes care of the brush and along fence rows. I lease the 20 acre field for grazing. The tractor FEL is great at bringing up black bottom soil for use in my gardens. I even have a wagon for hauling firewood and trash ... And groups of grandchildren.

Re: How many acres do you own/operate on?
My wife and I own 67 acres in a long hollow in Middle Tennessee. The property is about 30 acres of pasture-&-thicket, 32 acres of forest, 5 acres of lawn, a small creek, and a large pond. Lots of hillside and some nearly flat. The fleet is the JD 5225 with a JD 542 loader and (5) 3PT implements; the JD LX188 17-hp lawn tractor with ATV tires on the rear, 48" mowing deck, and a small trailer; and a 1995 Ford F150 4WD Eddie-Bauer pickup. I use the tractors to mow the lawn, bush-hog the pastures and trails, haul dirt, grade the road, clear downed trees, cut-and-haul firewood, and we're still tearing down the old oak barn. There's no lack of things to do here!
