Weight puzzle!
In considering purchasing wheel weights I notice that JD's weights run $2 to $3 a pound!
However, the kind of weight that you lift manually and repetitively for exercise is around $.50 a pound. Go figure?

Re: Weight puzzle!
When I bought my JD suitcase weights (a couple years ago) they were about a buck a pound.

Re: Weight puzzle!
I'm scratching my head trying to find a way around this puzzle. JD quoted me $1300 for 220# of wheel weights. I am keeping my eyes open for old weights that I can modify for my tractor. I would fill my tires, but I switch twice a year, and am not sure I can safely change filled tires. I have a bunch of lead pigs, but haven't found a place to mount them.

Re: Weight puzzle!
Used weights at an auction usually bring about $0.10-0.30/lb. Trick is finding the right weights.

Re: Weight puzzle!
Found suitcase weights at my local scrap yard. I picked up 500# for about $125. Could have picked up about another 2 tons worth as they had a whole stack of them.
2008 5103, FEL, 6ft. HD Box Blade, 6ft. Rotory cutter. And many more to come.
