Used for $1500, 8 hours of driving and no warranty...
$2300 close to home with warranty...
Tough call. I would lean toward the new one personally, But if you could get the used one for $1000 then go for it.

I got some more information on the RAD /Frontier rear blowers, and they are suggesting 20-35 PTO hp for the 64" VS 16-35 PTO hp for the 54".

I paid 1200 cdn for mine with hyd chute control. Frontier surely makes fine stuff I have a BB2060 box blade and an SP1060 pulverizer. I would offer the guy a 1000 and see if he bites, then it would be worth it. Believe me there is not much to break on one of them the way they are made so unless it has a broken auger or impeller, pretty much everything else is very cheap to maintain as it has an open gear box and #50 chain drive to the auger and a few easily sourced bearings. Another nice thing is you can adjust the depth of the 3pt from the blower to compensate for PTO shaft length.

Well I won a Buhler Farm King Y500 on ebay tonight for $1250. The gentleman used it on a 2305 for less than an hour. Comes with the optional 4 blade fan also. I have a small drive to pick it up but for the price and the amount of heavy snow removal we have I feel it is a good buy. I had plans to spend around $2300 for a new blower so I came in way under budget. Now I am trying to decide if I should also get the front blade for the lighter snow or just stick with the FEL. | |

Congrats, you got a real good deal there..
Just use the FEL, it will be a great combo as it allows you to move piles of the white stuff vs just pushing it around.

I ordered two front light kits seemed more economical to me. I then used some flat stock and bolted both lights to it and on to the light guard. I ran with just three hooked up for a year and last week I finally hooked the forth up to try it. Needless to say I blew the fuse instantly so back to three it goes. I am thinking of adding the back two to a relay and run straight off a battery. | |
