Questions for 3x20/300cx owners

Hiya,

Questions:

1) Will it lift 2000 Lb pallet loads with a set of forks to/from pickup truck height?

2) How does it drive with max load on the loader? (My 2520 starts to let you know when it's lifting 80% of it's max)

3) Does it work well scooping heavy material from a pile with 61" HD bucket with either the tooth bar or the bolt on edge? (My 2520 with the 61" material bucket will stall the loader in moist loam or knitpack.)

I am sure you will get some varried answers. But I have a 4110 and a 3720, so I might be able to see this from both sides.

1. I do not think you can lift 2K from a truck bed with forks. You have to add in the weight of the forks. I will say no, it will not. I have picked up an 1800+ pound pallet out of my truck, but I had to use the curl cyl to lift it.

2. It drives heavy in the front with max on the loader. I am really ballasted well and I know when I have weight up there, but it steers well. It handles load better than the 4110 would at the same % of max. But my 4110 has turfs, and they do not like to lift, as they pancake.

3. There is no comparison as to lifting dirt or scooping. I have a 72" bucket on the 3720 and I can fill it and lift it. I can burry it in a pile if I want, but with some skill I can load a full bucket easily without ever stalling the loader.

Maybe you should look at a 4120 or 4320. They would be better at the jobs you ask about!

1. Can't say, I haven't had to lift that kind of weight yet.

2. I would say any tractor, if the loader is at max load, is going to let you know when it's got a heavy load. Just make sure you've got proper ballast as the biggest problem is front end stress. As long as you do that, it should work to it's full potential.

3. I have the 61" and no matter what bucket you have, the loader is either going to lift it or it's not, there really is no question there.

Based on the questions, it sounds like your going to be on the upper spectrum of the 300cx's load capacity. I agree with Nmu that a 4x20 series tractor will probably be better suited for you. Its always better to have a margin of more capacity, than almost or under.

Sounds like a 4x20 for you. However, if you can cut that weight down a little it will do it.

Tried lifting a ton off my pickup last fall with the 3320/heavy counterweight just to see. Got the weight off the truck at higher RPM and 4wd ingaged to be able to move. Little too much for the sized tractor,but I did manage to get it off (never again). The rest of the pallets I took 5-600 lbs. off and it handled it, but still had to be careful when not close to the ground. Loader with the bucket on doesn't have a problem. Think with the forks it's just too much weight hanging out too far and a little more than it's made to do.

1) No, that's several hundred pounds over it's capacity, I've tried lifting pallets of bagged concrete mix, I think it was 16-18 80LB bags max.

2) It's OK, but whenever your your at capacity there is no room for error and you will feel it.

3) Yes, it will be better than your smaller machine was, proper technique helps but using load match will prevent it from stalling regardless

Are you making this statement based on your 4310 or have you tried it with the 3000 series tractor? I had a 4410 before I got the 3720 on the day the 3720 was delivered just for fun I lifted a pallet of paver's with both tractors and was surprised that the 4410 couldn't pick the load off the trailer but the 3720 could . I believe the weight was around 1,800 to 2,000 lbs. I couldn't lift it full height but I got it off the trailer.

After about 6 months of owning the tractor I found a dealer that let me trade up to the 300cx loader for a fair price, mainly for the extra lifting capacity which I think is around 1500-1600#.
I didn't realize the loaders rated capacity changes on different machines.

After about 6 months of owning the tractor I found a dealer that let me trade up to the 300cx loader for a fair price, mainly for the extra lifting capacity which I think is around 1500-1600#.
I didn't realize the loaders rated capacity changes on different machines.

I didn't realize you had the 300 loader, my 4410 had the old loader. I know that I could pick up 2,200 lbs off the ground and transport it because I was moving pallets of the "step stones" that weighed 550 lbs. each - 4 on a pallet.

You might get 2K off the ground, but you will not get it to truck height as the OP asked! Been there, and its a no go.
