| 2305 front suitcase weights I am running a 2305 with a KKII tiller. I currently have 4 40# suitcase weights on the front but need more. I want to add a few 100# weights but am not sure which type will work. Has anybody tried 100#ers and if so which kind?
Thanks

| Re: 2305 front suitcase weights I am not sure 100 lb weights are made for the front of CUT's. There are 100 lb weights for the rear wheels, but you need a set of 55 lb wheel weights for starters.
I think you would just fill the front bracket with 40 lb weights. |

| Re: 2305 front suitcase weights You can do a search, but I think I've seen an extension bracket that allows for (7) of the 40 lb weights on a 2305.

You might be right , I know the old 4xx series GT and I believe the x4xx's ,
x5xx's and x7xx's also have an extension bracket ... The Tractor holds 5 and
the extension bracket holds an additional 4 suitcase weights ...

| Re: 2305 front suitcase weights I was looking more towards 100# weights off a big tractor. I went to a few tractor salvage yards but all they had were some deere and magnum weights which both have different mounting style than the 2305 has. I'm not sure if older international ones will work. |

| Re: 2305 front suitcase weights I thought that JD had some heavier weights for this tractor, but the ones I was thinking of are for the rear wheels. There is an extension bracket, Part # LVB25363 that holds 7 weights. You might also look at other brands to see what is available. Kubota has slightly heavier weights for the BX series for example that mount in a similar if not identical fashion.

Click on the part number for a diagram from Deere.com. |

| Re: 2305 front suitcase weights STM,
Good luck finding 100 pounders. I've got seven 35lb weights off an ariens machine on the front of my 2210. I don't have the JD extension bracket and don't know the total weight you can get from JD, but I really, really like the front weights I've got.
My kubota tiller is probably a little lighter than your KK, and the weight I have up front is fine for that. I've got a 4' JD rotary cutter, that even though I'm good with that too, I'm still probably 50lbs or so away from keeping the front end firmly planted under all conditions when using that.
For what it's worth.

| Re: 2305 front suitcase weights Deere part number R66949 is a "42-lb Quik-Tatch weight". You may put 5 of them on the standard 2305 bumper for 210 pounds of front ballast. I previously mentioned the extension brack that can take this up to 294 pounds of front ballast.
According to the Deere 2305 ballast spreadsheet this is sufficient for the 673 73-inch tiller (without iMatch) if the 2305 had enough PTO horsepower to turn it. When you add the iMatch it puts the tractor 1% to light in the front.
How big is this KK tiller anyway? |
