This has really been a great thread!

I have really enjoyed "all the pictures" that you have posted.... Beautiful place you have!

Have you thought about buying a backhoe for your tractor ?

Thanks for sharing!

There is a rear view mirror on each side. They are compulsory here to make the tractor highway legal. I like them very much, they are not too much in the way, give a comfortable view on the rear and have so far resisted the branches and other obstacles. They are John Deere, part number AL58554. They are meant for sale in Europe, I am not sure you can get them in the States.

Very few people have backhoes on their tractors over here. When there is some digging to be done, we rent bigger machines. I was sorry I didn't have a backhoe a few days ago when I had to dig quite a big hole to repair the water system. I thought of renting an excavator, but finally did it with pick and shovel. Backhoes are not without inconvenience, they are heavy and cumbersome, difficult to install and remove, prevent the use of the 3 point hitch, etc. From what I read on TBN they are also very useful to remove roots, stumps and all sorts of things. I'm not yet convinced the advantages justify the effort and inconvenience.

Those are nice looking mirrows.
They are listed in JD Parts, Model 3520, "Sectional Index", "Hood, Frame, Wheels.........", "Fenders (European)". I don't see a "kit", just the individual parts.

I think the line reads "29 AL58554 REAR VIEW MIRROR 2". I don't know if this means you get a kit of two mirrors or rather you have to order two Nr 29.

I think you will find that "AL58554" is only one mirror head. The "2" indicates how many are used on each tractor.
One will need to order items 24 through 29, in the quantities listed, to get a complete set of mirrors with mounting parts.
I have been thinking about ordering a set for my 3520. They sure look helpful. Looks like the complete package prices out to a little over $240 here in the states. A bit more than I want to spend right now, but on my "wish list".

I don't know what the mirrors cost over here, but I'll sure be extra careful with them now you've told me the US price !

On the late show, but that is a nice looking machine. I have both R4's and Turf Specials. RIMs for both too.
