80+cc saw and just saw those big ones down to handling size. Right saw and chain and you will be surprised how fast you can quarter up a large round.

No real lifting to do with the vertical splitter. I drive the tractor to just before the shed where the big pieces have been brought with the loader. I then roll the pieces onto the bottom plate of the splitter and load the split logs on a wheelbarrow for the 20 or 30 yards to the next fire wood pile. Very pleasant work in the strong smell of freshly cut wood. Of course the tractor must be placed so that the wind will take the smoke and noise away from you.
